HRP (the UNDP/UNFPA/UNICEF/WHO/World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction), will be actively participating in Women Deliver 2026. Three main events bring together work on gender-based violence, the future of sexual and reproductive health and gender-equality in an era of backlash. Find details below.
Seeing the unseen: Western Pacific violence against women estimates and survivor leadership for transformative change in health
Tuesday, 28 April, 12:00 to 13:30, Room 210
The session will shine a light on new estimates of violence against women in the Western Pacific Region and explore how survivor leadership can drive transformative change in health systems and policies. Presentations will highlight the latest regional evidence and examine what these findings mean for prevention, response and accountability within the health sector.
Central to the discussion will be the role of survivor leadership. By placing lived experience at the heart of policy and programme design, the event will demonstrate how survivor‑informed approaches can strengthen gender‑responsive, rights‑based health responses and contribute to lasting change.
This event will bring together researchers, policymakers, health professionals, civil society organizations and advocates to reflect on how robust data and survivor leadership can work together to improve health outcomes for women and girls across the region. Participation is limited to conference attendees, and the event will be held in person only, with no virtual or livestream option.
Building a feminist research agenda for the future of sexual and reproductive rights
Wednesday, 29 April 2026, 07:30 to 09:00, interactive workshop, Room 106
For better or for worse, the landscape of sexual and reproductive rights has always been an intentionally constructed one. The future of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) will be decided in much the same way – the question is: by and for whom, based on what, and to what end?
Through an interactive game, this session invites participants to both experience and expand upon four divergent futures set in 2050. Forming small teams, participants will immerse themselves in one of the four scenarios to explore: what does a research agenda for sexual and reproductive rights need to look like today to build the foundations of our desired tomorrow?
Grounded in an intersectional feminist approach that explicitly interrogates power, expands notion of expertise and evidence, and emphasises agency and allyship, this session serves as an opportunity to participate in a collaborative research agenda setting process with HRP.
This event welcomes activists, civil society, researchers, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and those with a vested interest in safeguarding SRHR for present and future generations. Participation is limited to Women Deliver delegates and the event will be held in-person only.
Glimpses of hope – Gender equality and SRHR work in the area of backlash

This side event will explore how advancing SRHR is fundamental to achieving gender equality, particularly in humanitarian and fragile settings. NORAD delegates will share perspectives on Norway’s commitment to SRHR as a central pillar of its gender equality agenda, while HRP will present the latest research findings and programmatic recommendations.
The event will also showcase concrete experiences from country-level programmes that contribute to gender equality and the prevention of gender-based violence, highlighting lessons from the implementation of comprehensive sexuality education across diverse contexts
Participants will be invited to contribute insights and recommendations that will inform the development of a training package and integration guidelines to strengthen adolescent SRHR interventions within multisectoral humanitarian responses. Through dialogue and knowledge exchange, the event aims to foster shared learning, innovation, and collaboration among organizations working to advance gender equality through SRHR.
